Michael Wahl, MD, FACEP, FACMT

Dr. Wahl is the Medical Director of the Illinois Poison Center, a program of the Illinois Health and Hospital Association and is responsible for the medical oversight of the statewide poison control center. Dr. Wahl’s interests include strategic responses to emerging poisoning and toxic public health threats, acute care toxicology and new and novel drugs of abuse. He is a board certified emergency physician on staff at Endeavor Health and a board certified medical toxicologist with toxicology consulting privileges at John H. Stroger Jr Hospital of Cook County.

Nikolai Arendovich is the current Emergency Department Physician at St Josephs Medical Center in Joliet. Previously he completed an EMS fellow at the medical college of Wisconsin working directly with the Milwaukee Office of Emergency Management, Flight for Life, and the Kenosha Fire Department focusing on pre-hospital education, protocol development as well as quality improvement. He completed myhisemergency medicine training at the Washington University at St Louis.

Dr. Hampton is a full-time emergency physician and Clinical Assistant Professor in Emergency Medicine for the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Hampton lectures nationally and internationally on a variety of emergency medicine topics for diverse audiences including ENA, NENA, ACOEP, ACEP, SEMPA, STN, Contemporary Forums, and NASEMSO. He has thus far lectured in 21 of the 50 states and has been featured on QuantiaMD, an online physician education site. In his free time, Dr. Hampton enjoys serving as adjunct faculty for trumpet performance at Silver Lake College in Manitowoc, teaching yoga, and caring for his twin toddlers.

Laura Magallones is a Registered Nurse of 33 years and is the Director of Risk Management, Interim Corporate Compliance Officer and Privacy Officer for Silver Cross Hospital & Medical Centers. Laura works to identify, evaluate, and mitigate risk for Silver Cross and is a risk management resource for the organization. She manages the lawsuits and claims for the health system collaborating with assigned attorneys to help manage financial losses. Laura graduated with a BSN from Loyola University of Chicago and holds a Master’s Degree in Nursing from Lewis University and a Master’s Degree in Juris Prudence accompanied by a certificate in Risk Management and Compliance from Texas A & M University School of Law. She is a Certified Professional Healthcare Risk Manager through the American Hospital Association, a Certified Pediatric Emergency Nurse, and a Trauma Nurse Specialist.

Gloria Summey

Gloria Summey has been working in the medical field for 29 years, starting as an EMT and then becoming a registered nurse. She has a masters in nursing education, previously certified emergency nurse and pediatric emergency nurse. She teaches for the ENA as state faculty and is a certified burn instructor. Gloria is a small business owner who works as an independently contracted educator, is passionate about helping nurses further their practice and in turn growing the nursing profession. One of the things she strongly supports is work-life balance, taking care of her family while taking care of yours.
